Responsibilities

As a Fund Controller at Vector, you will play a pivotal role in providing top-tier fund administration services to our clients within the Private Equity and Venture Capital sectors. With a focus on closed-end funds, you will act as the primary contact on client engagements and collaborate closely with the Fund Team to complete a broad scope of services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for client engagements, ensuring high-quality fund administration services.
  • Collaborating with the Fund Team to execute financial reporting, partner allocations, carried interest calculations, and processing capital calls and distributions.
  • Liaising with auditors, tax providers, formation counsel, and other service providers to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Working closely with leadership to contribute to major projects, develop programs, and enhance day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with client contacts, auditors, lawyers, and banking personnel.
  • Overseeing and providing guidance on the initial set-up of Clients' Funds deliverables, including capital calls, distributions, financial statements, waterfalls, and IRRs.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for fund administration services, including training and enabling the fund team.
  • Informing the software development roadmap based on expertise.
  • Assisting the business development team during prospective client calls as needed.
  • Acting as a thought leader, helping to develop content, etc.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in fund accounting for closed-end funds within the Private Equity/Venture Capital industry.
  • Proven expertise in key areas, including Limited Partnership Agreement (LPA) terms, expense allocations, and waterfall calculations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Experience interpreting and understanding Limited Partnership Agreements, Private Placement Memorandum.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to manage client concerns or conflicts with minimal escalation.
  • Strong and effective communicator and strong ability to multitask to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills
  • Preferred CPA/CMA qualifications, not required

Compensation

The compensation for this position is competitive and ranges from $110,000 to $170,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to the base salary, eligible candidates may receive profit units as part of Vector's comprehensive compensation package. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process.
