What inspired you to work at Vector?

Throughout my career, I noticed a lot of organization in which efficiency was an afterthought and when ideas were brought up, they were quickly shot down without adequate consideration. I also saw the immense value of utilizing technology. So, when Matt approached me and told me that Vector was about to disrupt the market by designing effective workflows and building technology around it, I couldn’t say no!

What is something about you that people would be surprised to learn about?

I amassed a collection of over 75+ indoor plants in my small New York City apartment during the pandemic. They range from common house plants all the way to tropical plants found in Latin America and Asia. Growing up in Vancouver, Canada I was always surrounded by nature and wanted to mimic that as much as I could in my surrounding.

How do you enjoy your breaks during the workday?

Did I mention I have a lot of plants? I know it may sound crazy, but watering plants can be meditative. I think getting up and moving around not only relaxes the body but reenergizes the mind. So, in addition to taking care of my plants during my breaks, I like to stretch or take short walks outside.

What skill do you think everyone should learn?

Mindfulness. With the world we live in today, it’s challenging sometimes to let go of the past or stop worrying about the future. I believe practicing mindfulness by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, no matter how short, can provide relief in the pressures we face day in and day out.

What’s the best advice you can give to someone who wants to work with us?

Be a team player. Working at a startup can be challenging and sometimes require all hands-on deck, so rallying together in these trying times with people willing to work together, makes it a lot easier.
